Governor of M’sila Province, Mr. Nadjmeddine Tayar<\/strong>, along with the provincial authorities and the university community, presided over the opening of the 2023-2024<\/strong> academic year at M’sila University<\/a>. The ceremony took place on Saturday, September 23, 2023,<\/strong> starting at 8:30 AM in the Ibn Al-Haytham<\/strong> Grand Lecture Hall at the university pole, similar to universities across the country, in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the academic year at the University of Guelma, which was presided over by Professor Kamel Badari.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by a lecture by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, entitled “A Creative University in the Service of a Pioneering Algeria<\/span>,” in which he stressed the need for human investment as the driving force of the new Algeria, and the elements on which the modern Algerian university is based, such as digitalization<\/strong> and innovation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Minister mentioned in his speech that the number of students has increased by 3400 times since independence and that 870<\/strong> patents have been registered during the current year. He also stressed the need to direct the training professors, the graduation thesis topics of students towards creative ideas, innovation, and job creation.<\/p>\n

The Minister also mentioned the reforms that have affected the university since independence to the present day.<\/p>\n

As for M’sila University, it has welcomed nearly seven thousand new students during the 2023\/2024 academic year and has benefited from 189<\/strong> new assistant professor positions, bringing the total number of permanent professors at the university to more than 1700<\/strong> permanent professors.<\/p>\n

M’sila University has also been reinforced this season with 11 new specializations during the current academic year, including medical sciences, translation, veterinary sciences, architecture, construction project management, agricultural sciences, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering, law at a distance, in addition to training courses with dual specializations leading to two diplomas, namely: Business Administration-English Language, and Computer Science-Law.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the opening of these new specializations at M’sila University comes in response to the specific needs of the province’s residents and in line with the requirements of the labor market.<\/p>\n
