To safeguard our resources, we need to completely change the way we think about farming and look for new strategies in cultivation techniques. Because legumes are rich in relatively inexpensive proteins and certain mineral elements such as potassium, magnesium and calcium, they are one of the most popular food resources for a large section of the Algerian population. From an agronomic point of view, legumes play a significant role in fertilisation by improving soil structure through their ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen, making them a good crop precedent for cereals. Integrating legume crops into crop rotations under difficult soil and climate conditions is a lever for the sustainable intensification of agricultural production systems. From an economic point of view, the production of pulses is of national interest, as it can help to cover the country’s needs and reduce imports, thereby reducing our dependence on the outside world.

Professor Ramdane BENNIOU.

Information day on the development of leguminous food crops M’Sila, 13 March 2017 Over the last few decades, human activities, and in particular farming practices, have seriously degraded ecosystems, especially soils, with a decline in biodiversity, organic matter content and …

[799,1439

post-53064","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news-science-en","category-student-science
["GET
