Videoconference on World Wide Data Day : A day to analyze LHC Data

A day to analyze Large Hadron Collider Data:
Students from around the world are part of World Wide Data Day: November 15, 2018. They will have access to authentic data from the large particle collider: Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, where thousands of protons enter in collision. These are the topics of the data analysis and videoconferences of World Wide Data Day 2018.
Students will search for particles called muons that result from proton collisions and measure angles at which they careen from the collision point. All the results will be pooled worldwide to probe the nature of proton collisions and reveal something about what is inside a proton. Students who are part of the investigation will join
videoconferences with their peers and physicists to discuss what they have learned.
World Data Day 2018 is an event organized by International Masterclasses, QuarkNet and the International Particle Physics Awareness Group that helps students understand particle physics through authentic data investigations.
