Abstract:
The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between economic development and urbanization in Algeria in order to see if the urbanization process was generated by economic recovery. We performed an econometric study over the period
(1990-2017) using the ARDL model.
The results obtained showed that there is no real relationship between urbanization and economic development, in other words, the phenomenon of urbanization in Algeria has not
been accompanied by economic development.
