Abstract:

This study aimed to identify the reality of innovation in Algeria and its relationship to income by assessing and examining the development of its inputs and outputs with their sub-elements (institutions, human capital, infrastructure, market environment, business environment, knowledge and technology, and creativity). and its relationship to income.

We have concluded that Algeria belongs to the fourth category of upper middle income and according to the Global Innovation Index, it is one of the countries that did not meet development expectations, and its indicators of innovation inputs are greater than those of its outputs, this demonstrates the lack of effectiveness of innovative activities in Algeria, which calls for more work to upgrade, modernize and develop all GII pillars.
