At the level of each faculty in the university, the Scientific Council represents the highest scientific body, overseeing all tasks related to scientific research in parallel with administrative work. The Faculty’s Scientific Council is composed of elected members representing the professors, as well as other members including the Dean, Vice Deans, Department Heads, Heads of Scientific Committees, Laboratory Directors, and the Library Director.
The Scientific Council plays a central role in managing the faculty’s scientific affairs. It is responsible for all matters related to academic research, such as approving Master’s and Doctoral projects, proposing the opening or closure of specializations, assigning training and scientific meetings to professors, approving national and international exchange and cooperation programs, and planning and approving the faculty’s scientific activities. The Council is also responsible for assigning members to doctoral defense committees. The Chair of the Scientific Council is an official member of the University Scientific Council, making the Faculty’s Scientific Council the “beating heart” of the faculty.

- Proposing research programs.
- Proposing the creation or closure of departments, programs, units, or research laboratories.
- Proposing the opening, extension, or closure of postgraduate programs and specifying the number of required positions.
- Defining faculty requirements and qualifications.
- Approving postgraduate research topics and proposing committees for their defense.
- Proposing committees for university habilitation.
