The Faculty of Sciences at Mohamed Boudiaf University of M’sila is a core institution for higher education and scientific research, structured around two main fields: Material Sciences and Natural and Life Sciences. It provides training at the Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate levels (LMD), in addition to the Doctorat ès Sciences, and hosts several specialized research laboratories.

The Faculty comprises the following departments: Physics, Chemistry, Natural and Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Microbiology and Biochemistry, and Veterinary Sciences. It also includes two shared pedagogical units responsible for managing the common core curricula of both major fields.

To expand its academic offer and strengthen pedagogical coverage, a Medical Annex was established during the 2023/2024 academic year to support training needs in medical sciences within the university.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student-Related Matters is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Managing and monitoring undergraduate student registrations.

  • Overseeing teaching activities and taking or proposing any measures necessary to improve them.

  • Maintaining the nominal and statistical records of students.

  • Collecting, processing, and disseminating pedagogical information for the benefit of students.

The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Student-Related Matters oversees the following offices:

  • The Teaching Office

  • The Instruction and Assessment Office

  • The Statistics, Information, and Guidance Office

The Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations is responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing the conduct of postgraduate entrance examinations.

  • Taking or proposing the necessary measures to ensure the smooth progress of postgraduate training.

  • Ensuring the proper organization and conduct of postgraduate dissertation and thesis defenses.

  • Monitoring the implementation and progress of scientific research activities.

  • Initiating partnership actions with socio-economic sectors.

  • Launching initiatives aimed at promoting and strengthening cooperation with national and international universities.

  • Implementing programs for faculty development and the renewal of their academic and scientific skills.

  • Overseeing the functioning of the Faculty Scientific Council and maintaining its archives.

The Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations is assisted in his duties by:

  • The Head of the Postgraduate Training Follow-Up Office

  • The Head of the Research Follow-Up Office

  • The Head of the Cooperation and External Relations Office

 
 

The Secretary-General of the Faculty is responsible for the following:

  • Preparing the draft human resources management plan for the Faculty and ensuring its implementation.

  • Managing the professional careers of the Faculty’s staff.

  • Ensuring the management, documentation, and preservation of the Faculty’s archives.

  • Preparing the Faculty’s draft budget and overseeing its execution.

  • Promoting scientific, cultural, and sports activities for students in coordination with the relevant units of the University Directorate.

  • Managing the Faculty’s movable and immovable assets and ensuring their maintenance.

  • Ensuring the implementation of the Faculty’s internal security plan.

The General Secretariat of the Faculty, to which the Internal Security Office is attached, comprises the following units:

  • The Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities Office

  • The Facilities and Maintenance Office
