A word from the Department Head

After greetings, may God’s peace be upon you.

As the Head of the Construction Project Management Department at the Urban Technology Management Institute, I am pleased to welcome you to this digital space. This space aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the department and its specialization, and to facilitate the provision of information in an easy and smooth manner to all members of the Construction Project Management Department (administrators, professors, and students).

The Operational Project Management specialization is one of the important specializations at the Urban Technology Management Institute at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’Sila. It aims to train students in the field of project management by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the effective planning and implementation of various projects, whether in the public or private sectors.

The Department of Construction Project Management was established by Decision No. 927 of July 3, 2024, supplementing Decision No. 53 of February 24, 2010, establishing the departments comprising the Urban Technology Management Institute at Mohamed Boudiaf University of M’sila.

By virtue of Decision No. 1041 dated August 2, 2023, the University of M’sila was qualified to provide training for a professional bachelor’s degree in operational project management at the University of M’sila.

The department currently offers two levels of training: a professional bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree, which is currently under preparation and will receive ministerial approval and be ready for the next academic year (2025-2026).

This training is supervised by approximately 17 full-time professors of various academic ranks who comprise the department’s faculty. Students pursue their studies in the following open specializations with scientific and technical training:

Professional Bachelor’s Degree: Operational Project Management

Professional Master’s Degree: Operational Project Management (in preparation).

Objectives of the major:

This major focuses on preparing qualified individuals capable of:

Strategic project planning according to modern standards.

Effective management of human, material, and financial resources.

Risk analysis and finding appropriate solutions to ensure project success.

Using modern management tools and techniques, such as specialized project management software.

Evaluation and follow-up to ensure the achievement of defined objectives within the planned budget and timeline.

Course Content:

Students in this major receive training that combines theoretical and practical aspects, including:

Foundations and principles of project management.

Financial and accounting management of projects.

Human resource management in a project environment.

Decision-making and problem-solving strategies.

Legal and legislative aspects related to project management.

Practical applications and case studies of real projects.
