The President of the University, Professor Professor Ammar BOUDALAA, opened the session, welcomed the attendees, and then touched on the following schedule:

– Annex of Medicine at M’sila University,

– The role of the communication and media cell of the university,

-Tourism promotion cell towards (Bani Hammad) Kalaa.

– The pedagogical outcome,

-Doctoral contests,

– Short-term trainings and scientific events for the year 2024,

1- Annex of Medicine at M’sila University

With regard to the file of the medical annex project at the University of M’sila, this week members of the joint sectoral committee representing the health and the higher education sectors were received by the state’s governor (al-Wali) in order to study the possibilities and to inspect the educational and health facilities in the aim of establishing the annex of the Faculty of Medicine at the university.

After the examination carried out by the committee in coordination with the interests of the University of M’sila and the Directorate of Health in the wilaya, in addition to reviewing all considerations related to the subject in the field, the final report was submitted to the central services, so that the decision would be taken accordingly.

2-The role of the university’s Cell of communication and media

In this regard, this week a coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Rector of the University of M’sila and in the presence of the heads of the activities departments at the level of faculties and institutes. During this meeting, the following points were addressed:

-Updating and restructuring the official website of the university

– The work of the departments (sections) of activities in colleges and institutes

– Facebook page of the university

-Media and Communication Cell

Clarifications have been suggested vis à vis the roadmap to follow in the future, and the assignment of tasks to the concerned members. The meeting stressed the necessity of covering all activities in their various fields at the level of colleges and institutes. The coverage should be conducted in form of reports and pictures, and correspondence with the media cell at the level of the deputy Rectorate of External relations Foreign, Cooperation, Animation, Communication and Scientific Events through the cell’s professional mail: Ibtissam.yousfi@univ-msila.dz

The media cell—at the level of the university directorate— was also commissioned to cover the activities of the university Rector, corresponding with the concerned authorities for publication on the official website of the university and the Facebook page. In addition, the university was supported by a translation cell affiliated with the Faculty of Letters and Languages, so that the various coverages would be published in the three languages.

The Rector of the University, Professor Ammar Boudala also accentuated he necessity of coordination between the activities sections in the faculties and institutes and the media cell at the level of the university Rectorate so that every piece of information would be timely transmitted.

3-Tourism promotion cell towards (Bani Hammad) Kalaa

The University’s Rector communicated a reading of the most important instructions given by the President of the Republic during the government’s meeting with the Wilaya’s governors (Wali’s) about local development “assessment and prospects” and the significance of participating in this stage, especially since it is a stage of strategic challenges based on energy, food and water security.

In this regard, the Rector gave directives to the faculties deans and institutes directors to form cells— at the university level— consisting of professors specialized in the following fields:

– Cell Agricultural yield improvement

– Digitization Cell of the Agricultural Sector,

– Security and Water Guidance/Piloting Cell,

– Medicinal Herb cell,

– Tourism and Cultural Promotion Cell,

Next Sunday: starting at 14:00, a meeting will be programmed with the concerned executives in the Wilaya to inaugurate the work of these cells and generate a roadmap for action.

4- The pedagogical outcome

Regarding the progress of the pedagogical work, a detailed report was communicated, this week, by the Deputy Rector of the University in charge Pedagogy, Professor Abdelmoutaleb BISSAR, dealing with:

– the statistics of success rates and the process of deliberations in the ministerial platform Progress, according to each college and institute, as the total initial success rate reached approximately 42.67% during the first semester.

-Statistics for the number of students enrolled in the university were also presented. Th e number reaches almost 28,451 students, while 1,006 students concerned with suspending training during the academic year 2023-2024.

5-Doctoral Contests for the Academic Year 2023-2024

In this regard, and according to the PhD calendar, the third PhD entrance contest for the academic year 2023-2024 was held this week in each of the following faculties: Science, Technology, Mathematics and Informatics on Thursday and Saturday 02/04 February 2023, for the following branches:

-Physics and Chemistry,

– Mathematics,

– Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

The results were announced on the day following the contest. The number of students—  from the University of M’sila—  who passed was 27 students, while the process is still underway in preparation for the remaining contests according to the schedule placed in advance.

And according to the directives of the Rector of the University, the meeting emphasized the need to include and upload the results of the previously organized contests on the Progress platform before Saturday, February 11, 2023 at four o’clock in the evening.

6- Digitization

Regarding digitization for this week, the status of the following digital platforms was discussed:

*Parapheur Electronique: A current presentation of the electronic administrative portfolio platform was presented according to each of the university’s sections, as the total number of this week reached 176 indexed correspondence.

*Complaints and Inquiries Platform: 13 new concerns were received this week, and they have been addressed.

*Final certificate request platform: 98 certificates have been completed, while 37 applications are still pending.

*As for the process of publishing announcements and administrative minutes at the level of the student portal, 402 new announcements and 02 administrative reports were published this week.

During this meeting, the outcome of the work of the committee in charge of reworking and restoring the university’s website was also discussed. The results of the university’s ranking within the national and international classifications, as well as the university’s visibility were also tackled.

7-Short-term trainings and scientific events for the year 2024,

In this regard, the Vice Rector for External Relations, Professor Al-Hashemi Bin Wadh, Pr. Hachemi BENOUADAH communicated a presentation that included the program for levels-improvement abroad for the year 2023, where the electronic platform D.W.S was launched for registration as far as professors of the University of M’sila are concerned. The registrations started from February 05, 2023 via the professional e-mail of the professors in question. Added to that:

The updating of scientific and educational works will take place from February 5 to March 15, 2023.

– The request for abroad-trainings and confirmation will take place in the period from 16 to 23 March 2023

-The meeting of scientific councils to approve and endorse the final results will be held from 09 to 13 April 2023.

– The internships can be spent immediately after being approved by the Scientific Councils

As far as deans, directors of institutes, heads of scientific councils of colleges and institutes, heads of cells affiliated to the university rectorate, the university rectorate takes charge of the expenses of their short-term training abroad.

– As for the criteria for rating the files of candidates at the level of colleges and institutes, work is being done to unify them according to the file submitted with the announcement of the candidacy.

In the meeting also clarifications were provided vis-à-vis the conditions set for the organization of national and international scientific events, as well as the publication process during the academic year 2023/2024, whether it is related to national/international forums, study days, seminars or workshops.
