Message from the Department Head

The issue of disability is not an individual matter, but rather a societal one that requires full mobilization from all institutions and sectors to reduce and limit the negative impacts of disability. Moreover, the rehabilitation, education, and training of individuals with special needs to adapt to society has become more than necessary. Therefore, adapted physical and sports activities are the only solution and the best way to help the disabled achieve physical, mental, social, and psychological growth, enabling them to accept and coexist with their disability. This will also allow them to rely on themselves to meet their needs and not be a burden on society, but to contribute to its progress.

This is the goal of the Department of Adapted Physical and Sports Activities at the Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities at Mohamed Boudiaf University of M’sila, which aims to train qualified personnel capable of fulfilling this noble mission for all types of disabilities. The belief is that society builds its strength with all its children, regardless of their abilities and aptitudes. Furthermore, the principle that “disability does not negate willpower” compels us to design scientific sports programs aimed at empowering this group, which is an integral part of society. They possess unique characteristics and traits that distinguish them from others, and they are in urgent need of specialized educational programs to help them develop their skills and abilities in line with their capabilities. This will enable them to take responsibility, rely on themselves, and face life’s challenges while solving daily problems.
