Important Announcement Regarding the Five-Star Student Program for Third-Year License and Second-Year Master’s Students

Reference: Correspondence No. 1410 dated September 22, 2022, concerning measures to enhance student contribution to their university education.
In implementation of the provisions mentioned in the above-referenced correspondence, and in order to involve students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in building their educational pathway, and to overcome all difficulties facing them, thereby allowing them to shape their transversal training through parallel activities aimed at developing the spirit of citizenship, autonomy, and humanity, and strengthening confidence among various stakeholders in the university environment, and in order to attract students’ attention to participate in this type of initiative, we hereby inform third-year license students as well as second-year master’s students regularly enrolled at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, that the application process for the Five-Star Student competition will be from Sunday, April 12, 2026, to Thursday, April 30, 2026, provided that the conditions mentioned below are met.
We also inform students wishing to undertake this project that the exercise “How to Become a Five-Star Graduate” requires implementing five (05) steps during their university career, with each step evaluated by one star. At the end of their university career, the student is evaluated by a mixed jury committee comprising university members and members from the socio-economic environment based on the portfolio (excellent student portfolio).
The five stages (which constitute eligibility conditions) are as follows:
First Star: Academic Performance (being among the top-ranked students).
Second Star: Proximity to Institutions (studying cases within institutions related to aspects connected to the student’s training).
Third Star: Development of Professional and Transversal Skills (foreign languages, IT, quality tools, business management, sports and cultural practices, brain games, organizing lectures followed by discussions on social topics, etc.).
Fourth Star: Distance Learning or Mobility Education evaluated by credits (either through Massive Open Online Courses – MOOCs, or by any other online means, ERASMUS program, academic mobility primarily directed toward the southern region of the country).
Fifth Star: Social Integration and Concerns (charitable work, e.g., visiting hospitals and helping patients, academic cooperation with accredited bodies in Algeria, student mentor-advisor, student representative in various pedagogical and scientific departmental councils).
Notes:
  • Applications must be submitted to the Dean’s Deputy for Studies and Student Affairs Office during the period mentioned above.
  • Students who benefited from reintegration due to interruption of studies, as well as students in the classical system who were enrolled in the second year of Master’s for the academic year 2025/2026, are excluded from this announcement.
  • Each applicant student must submit supporting documents for each of the five stars.
  • Failure to achieve one of the five stars is a disqualifying condition.
  • The jury committee will be announced later.
