Message from the Chairman of the Scientific Council

The Scientific Council is considered an advisory body, responsible for studying and discussing scientific matters and providing opinions on anything that improves the scientific and pedagogical outcomes for both professors and students. It consists of a select group of professors from the institute who work in a collegial environment to organize and summarize training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, research activities, and their evaluation. Additionally, it works on creating opportunities for national and international exchange and cooperation and supervises the scientific events of the institute.

Since its establishment, the Scientific Council of the institute has carried out numerous scientific and research activities. It has overseen the preparation of six international conferences, three national symposiums, and several study days. The Scientific Council has also been involved in organizing national competitions for Master’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as promoting many professors to the rank of Associate Professor “A”. Furthermore, it has registered 75 doctoral students and continuously monitored the enhancement of scientific research.

In accordance with Executive Decree No. 03-278, dated 24th Jumada II 1424 (23 August 2003), which defines the university’s tasks and specific organizational rules, especially Articles 67 and 68, the Scientific Council of the Institute was elected and formed. The tasks of the Scientific Council include:

  • Organizing education and its content.

  • Organizing research activities.

  • Proposing research programs.

  • Proposing the establishment or abolition of departments, fields, research units, or laboratories.

  • Defining the specifications and requirements for professors.

Additionally, the Scientific Council is tasked with the following:

  • Proposing research topics suggested by postgraduate students and suggesting discussion committees.

  • Proposing committees for university accreditation.

  • Reviewing the outcomes of the pedagogical and scientific activities of the institute, which are sent to the university president, accompanied by the council’s opinions and recommendations.

It may be consulted on any other issue related to pedagogy or scientific matters presented by the director
