As part of the applied field training program, the Department of Natural and Life Sciences at the Faculty of Science – University of M’sila organized a scientific field trip for first-year Master’s students in “Natural Ecosystem Ecology” on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to Chott El Hodna, one of the most significant wetland ecosystems in the semi-arid region of M’sila Province.
The field trip was supervised by Prof. Sari Medani, Prof. Hendel Noui, Dr. Sassoui Ammar, and Dr. Hadjouli Zakaria. During the excursion, students explored the ecological and biological characteristics of the wetland, studied its floral and faunal diversity, and discussed the environmental impacts and human activities affecting this unique natural ecosystem.
This activity is part of the pedagogical program aimed at strengthening theoretical knowledge through practical fieldwork and fostering a spirit of scientific inquiry and observation among students.
