
The announcement of the opening of nominations for the fourth Mendeleev International Prize for Basic Sciences, awarded by UNESCO and Russia.
With the aim of widely disseminating this information within academic and research circles, I am pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the Fourth UNESCO-Russia International Mendeleev Prize in Basic Sciences.
Established in 2019 by the UNESCO Executive Board, the UNESCO-Russia International Mendeleev Prize in Basic Sciences, whose statutes are attached, aims to encourage excellence in the basic sciences, particularly chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology, and to recognize outstanding achievements in the development, dissemination, and promotion of international cooperation in these sciences.
UNESCO invites its Member States, including Algeria, in consultation with their National Commissions, non-governmental organizations in official relations with UNESCO and active in the fields covered by the Prize, UNESCO Chairs, Category II Centers, international scientific unions, and universities, to nominate individuals for the Fourth UNESCO-Russia International Mendeleev Prize in Basic Sciences.
Two (2) winners will each receive an award of US$250,000.
Applications for this prize must be submitted to the National Commission by March 15, 2026, via the following link: https://www.unesco.org/fr/prizes/mendeleev?hub=921
To ensure that applications reach the National Commission on time, please also email them to prg.coopr@mesrs.dz by March 5, 2026.
