Introduction to the Department

Many definitions of psychology have emerged, varying according to different psychological schools and their scholars. Psychology can be defined as the science that studies human behavior in a scientific manner by understanding the mechanisms and psychology of behavior and its development. It also explores how habits and behavioral patterns such as values, inclinations, attitudes, cognitive processes, and thinking methods like perception and memory are acquired. Alternatively, psychology can be defined as the general study of the behavior of living organisms, particularly humans, with the aim of understanding, controlling, and regulating this behavior. Psychology addresses both internal and subjective human behaviors, such as mental processes and imagination, as well as external behaviors like actions, responses, and the practical patterns individuals use to interact with their environment.
