An illustrated lesson by Professor Zawawi Abdel Wahab under the title: Criticism and Sports Commentary
Sports and its spread and practice in Arab and Western societies. Sports derives its popularity from the enormous media coverage it receives from various sports media (audio, audio-visual, written and electronic), and also thanks to the development of media and communication technologies in the late 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. Sports commentary has emerged as a “Art, science, and profession,” with the start of broadcasting sporting events on various radio stations that have focused on sports affairs since the 1920s in Europe and America.
Egyptian Radio was the Arab pioneer in breaking into the field of sports media in 1934 AD, and by opening the sports commentary section in 1937 AD, when Mahmoud Badr El-Din began providing detailed descriptions of sports matches directly over the air.
Sports commentary in Algeria has also witnessed a remarkable development since independence until the present day, which has allowed the emergence of a significant number of sports commentators on Algerian radio and television, in line with the requirements and needs of the football fans in particular.
