Applied Field Trip for Natural and Life Sciences Students at the University of M’Sila on the Occasion of World Wetlands Day

As part of strengthening applied training for Natural and Life Sciences students, and in conjunction with World Wetlands Day, the University of M’Sila, represented by the Faculty of Sciences and with the participation of students from the Department of Natural and Life Sciences, organized an applied field trip on Monday, 02 February 2026.

This scientific outing was conducted in coordination with the Forestry Conservation of M’Sila Province and the National Dams Agency, with the aim of enabling students to link theoretical knowledge with field practice, and to enhance their understanding of the environmental dynamics of wetlands and their ecological importance.

The visit allowed students to gain direct insight into the environmental characteristics of wetland sites, their role in conserving biodiversity and regulating water resources, as well as to learn about management and protection mechanisms implemented by the responsible authorities. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen environmental education principles and to encourage students to engage in applied scientific approaches that contribute to the protection of fragile ecosystems.

This initiative forms part of the ongoing efforts of the Faculty of Sciences to develop students’ skills and promote field-based learning, thereby enhancing their scientific and professional preparedness in the fields of environmental sciences and biodiversity.
