I am honored to inform you that the African Union Commission has announced the opening of applications for the second batch of the African Women’s Network for Conflict Prevention and Mediation
“FEMWISE-AFRICA” continental level
This initiative aims to enhance the role of African women and their contribution to conflict prevention, mediation and peace processes through their participation in national and regional activities, with the aim of activating the network
FEMWISE-AFRICA
As a reminder, this network was established by virtue of Decision No. 663 issued by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in July 2017, as a subsidiary mechanism of the Committee of the Wise
In this context, it is worth noting the great importance that our country attaches to enhancing the role and position of women in peacekeeping and security operations. A commitment embodied in particular by our country’s adoption of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution (1325) on the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, as well as by Algeria’s hosting of the first General Assembly of the FEMWISE-AFRICA Network, held in December 2017, in Constantine.
It is also worth noting that the submission of applications is done online, before January 20, 2025. For more information on the application process, the necessary procedures and the duration of membership, please consult the following link:
