Presentation of the Laboratory
Introduction to the Laboratory
The laboratory “Economic Strategies and Policies in Algeria” is a purely scientific entity that carries out research activities within its field of specialization, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory texts. It is based at the Faculty of Economic, Commercial, and Management Sciences at Mohamed Boudiaf University of M’sila (Building B – 2nd Floor).
The laboratory obtained its accreditation in 2009, by Decision No. 222 dated 13/07/2009, accreditation number E1470800. It consists of a significant number of members, including 150 research professors of various academic ranks and 67 PhD students. The scientific work of the laboratory is organized around eight main research themes:
Analysis and evaluation of macroeconomic policies in Algeria amid economic reforms.
Policies and strategies of Algerian economic enterprises under economic transformations.
Development strategies in Algeria within the framework of economic globalization.
Formulating economic policies in Algeria using econometric and statistical models.
Financial and fiscal reforms and strategies in Algeria.
The financial system and the challenge of financing the Algerian economy.
Insurance and risk management.
International marketing and foreign trade in the Algerian economy.
Objectives of the Laboratory
The laboratory coordinates the scientific activities of its members, supports and supervises PhD students, and organizes scientific events either independently or in collaboration with other institutions. Its objectives include:
Achieving research goals in its field of specialization, aligned with the university’s general research policy.
Supervising scientific and research work within its area of expertise.
Participating in preparing research programs related to its activities.
Contributing to the acquisition and development of scientific knowledge.
Supporting training activities for PhD students.
Promoting and publishing the research results of its members.
Collecting, processing, and disseminating scientific information relevant to its field.
Providing scientific expertise that supports local and national development.
Establishing partnerships and collaborations with economic and social sectors in research.
Laboratory Management
The laboratory is managed by Professor Dr. Brahouma Abdelhamid, the Director, along with the laboratory council and an administrative team of three staff members.

The laboratory consists of eight research teams, each focusing on one of the previously mentioned research themes:

“Macroeconomic Policies in Algeria amid Economic Reforms”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Zeitouni KamelResearch Interests:
This team analyzes the effectiveness of Algeria’s macroeconomic policies under economic reforms and their impact on macroeconomic variables. They study past policies to identify strengths and weaknesses, propose solutions for deficiencies, and encourage positive practices to continue in the future.Research Team 02
“Policies and Strategies of Algerian Economic Enterprises under Economic Transformations”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Kassimi KamelResearch Interests:
This team studies Algerian enterprises as fundamental units of economic development. Research focuses on building strong organizational structures, management strategies, and policies to help enterprises survive, expand, exploit strengths, minimize weaknesses, and adapt to global economic competition. The team analyzes strategies to align enterprises with current economic transformations.Research Team 03
“Development Strategies in Algeria within the Framework of Economic Globalization”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Boubaïa HassanResearch Interests:
This team develops methods for analyzing development strategies and links them to Algerian economic performance. It evaluates institutional challenges, proposes suitable solutions, offers consulting services, and provides guidance to researchers for better integration of Algeria into the global economy. The team also collaborates with national research institutions to study macro- and microeconomic interconnections.Research Team 04
“Formulating Economic Policies in Algeria Using Econometric and Statistical Models”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Brahouma AbdelhamidResearch Interests:
This team focuses on planning future development policies using statistical and econometric models. They analyze data using software such as SPSS, MINITAB, EVIEWS, etc., to forecast economic trends and support informed decision-making for Algeria’s economic development.Research Team 05
“Financial and Fiscal Reforms and Strategies in Algeria”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Charef Salah EddineResearch Interests:
This team studies fiscal reforms as tools of economic, financial, and social policy. Research focuses on taxation’s role in resource allocation, investment guidance, budget stability, and aligning reforms with Algeria’s economic transformations.Research Team 06
“The Financial System and the Challenge of Financing the Algerian Economy”
Team Leader: Prof. Dr. Ariaoua MohadResearch Interests:
This team examines planning and financing issues in Algerian economic institutions. They study reforms in the financial system, banking sector roles, and mechanisms for financing public and private enterprises while addressing structural weaknesses and inefficiencies.Research Team 07
“Insurance and Risk Management”

This team focuses on international marketing and trade, analyzing market structures, global competition, and multinational business dynamics. Research seeks effective marketing strategies and data collection methods to optimize Algeria’s participation in international trade.
