The book: “Introduction to Anthropology: The Science of Humanity” Authored by: Prof. Dr. Rehab Mokhtar

Anthropology,” as it is known in our Arab-Islamic heritage, or as it has been translated as “anthropology” or the so-called “science of man,” has its research or scientific inquiry based on the study of “man.” This does not mean that other sciences do not concern themselves with the study of humans; many disciplines and scientific fields focus on studying humanity, not only in social sciences and humanities but also in certain branches of natural sciences. The branches of anthropology have diversified due to the knowledge-driven motive and the richness of fieldwork, which encompasses research topics that vary from one society to another, in their inevitable connection with the cultural component and social determinant of each society.

Social sciences also focus on studying humans from different angles and through methods that sometimes intersect and at other times differ. Anthropology is concerned with studying the nature and form of social life, social systems, economic, cultural, religious, and political systems, and societal life in general among humans, whether in the form of groups, clans, or communities.

From an educational perspective, the book is aimed at students of the common core in the field of humanities and social sciences at the university level. It can also benefit all specialists in the field of anthropology and social sciences
