The national symposium activities : Analyzing Religious Discourse: Between Heritage Concepts and the Requirements of Modernity on November 3, 2025.

The Faculty of letters and Languages organized a national symposium supervised by the University Director, Professor Amar Boudelaa. The title was: “Analyzing Religious Discourse: Between Heritage Concepts and the Requirements of Modernity.”
The Vice-Directors of the University attended the symposium. Pr. Belkhjr Refice, the head of the symposium, opened the event. He welcomed everyone present. He stressed the need to understand religious discourse. This understanding must balance the concepts of heritage and authenticity with the demands of modernity and the contemporary reality. Next, Dr. Lakhdar Henni, Dean of the Faculty of letters and Languages, gave a brief speech. He welcomed the professors, researchers, and academics. He noted that the goal was to approach religious discourse as an open space for critical thinking and cognitive renewal. This involves two complementary visions. Together, they form the dialectic of the past and present in Arab-Islamic consciousness. The first perspective seeks to recall heritage concepts. These formed the structural basis for religious thought throughout the ages. The second perspective focuses on meeting the demands of the current era. Religious discourse can no longer be confined to traditional frameworks. The world is changing rapidly. Values and concepts are intertwining due to digital globalization and social, political, and intellectual transformations. Contemporary religious thought is therefore called upon to renew its methodological and research tools.
