We inform all students interested in studying abroad that applications are now open for the Hungary Study Scholarship, also known as the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship.
Eligible categories:
Top-ranking students in their respective specializations enrolled in the academic year 2025/2026 (with a maximum of three students per specialization); students in the third year of the Bachelor’s degree (L3) wishing to pursue a Master’s degree; and students enrolled in Master 2 / Engineering 5 (M2 / Ing 5) during the academic year 2025/2026 wishing to apply for a PhD program.
The deadline for online registration on the Stipendium platform is January 15, 2026.
After completing the online registration, applicants must submit their files to the Vice-Rectorate for External Relations, accompanied by a copy of the Stipendium registration certificate, before January 22, 2026.
Application file requirements:
Application form (template).
Certificate of online registration on the Stipendium platform.
Copy of the selection committee meeting minutes.
A handwritten motivation letter signed by the direct supervisor.
A copy of the Baccalaureate transcript.
For PhD applications:
6. Certificates of registration/re-registration for the five years of the university curriculum.
Transcripts of the first four years of study (L1/I1, L2/I2, L3/I3, M1/I4 for universities and university centers, or CP1, CP2, 1ASC, 2ASC for Higher Schools).
For Master’s applications:
Certificates of registration/re-registration for the three years of the university curriculum.
For PhD applications: transcripts of the first two years of study (L1, L2).
Certificate of ranking as top student of the cohort (template).
Student star-rating certificate (template).
Copy of the first page of the passport.
One passport-size photo.

Finally, it should be noted that the scholarship is funded exclusively by the Hungarian authorities, and that the final selection of accepted candidates is also the responsibility of the Hungarian side.
