A simulated maneuver, a virtual exercise, a trial run for the risk of a train collision.
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Civil Protection Directorate, under the supervision of the Governor of M’Sila Province, conducted a symbolic simulation exercise involving a hypothetical collision between a fuel transport train and a passenger train.
The exercise was observed by Professor Ali Qarmit, a road safety specialist from the Institute of Urban Technology Management at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’Sila. This demonstration coincided with a visit by Governor Najm Eddine Tayar, accompanied by the Vice-President of the Provincial People’s Assembly and members of the Provincial Security Committee, to the M’Sila railway station. The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation, review the measures taken, and examine the material and human resources deployed at the operational command center under the Civil Protection Directorate. They also observed the rescue operations, the provision of first aid to victims, and the distribution of various forms of assistance to the injured.
