
How to Sync and Transfer Publications from Google Scholar to ORCID
This technical guide explains how to export your research data from Google Scholar and import it into your ORCID profile using the BibTeX format.
Phase 1: Exporting from Google Scholar
- Log in to your Google Scholar Citations
- Select your works: Check the boxes next to the articles you wish to transfer (or click the top checkbox to select all).
- Export: Click the Export button and select the BibTeX
- Save the data: * A page with text code will appear. Copy all the content.
- Open a new Notepad file (or any text editor).
- Paste the content into the Notepad.
- Save the file with a .bib extension (e.g., bib).
Phase 2: Importing to ORCID
- Log in to your ORCID
- Navigate to Works: Scroll down to the “Works”
- Add Works: Click on “+ Add” and select “Add BibTeX”.
- Upload the file: * Click on “Choose file” and select the .bib file you saved earlier.
- Save to Profile: Once the list appears, you can review the items and click “Save to Profile” (or “Import all”).
