Reference: Correspondence No.: 1410 dated September 22, 2022, which includes measures related to enhancing the contribution of students to their university education.
In implementation of the provisions of the aforementioned correspondence, and in order to involve students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in building their educational path, and to overcome all difficulties facing them, which allows them to formulate their transversal education by carrying out parallel activities aimed at developing the spirit of citizenship, independence, and humanity, and strengthening trust among the various actors in the university environment, and in order to draw the attention of students to participate in this type of process, we inform third-year Bachelor students as well as second-year Master students regularly enrolled in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences that the application process for the “Five-Star Student” competition will be from Sunday, April 20, 2025, until Wednesday, April 30, 2025, provided that the conditions mentioned below are met.
We also inform students wishing to undertake this project that the exercise “How to become a five-star graduate” requires the embodiment of five (05) steps during their university career, with each step evaluated by one star. At the end of their university career, the student will be evaluated by a mixed jury comprising members from the university and members from the socio-economic environment based on the outstanding student’s portfolio.
As for these five stages (which constitute the conditions for candidacy), they are as follows:
First Star: Academic Performance (to be among the top students in the ranking). Second Star: Approaching the Institution (studying cases within institutions related to aspects relevant to the student’s education). Third Star: Developing Professional and Soft Skills (Foreign Languages, Computer Skills, Quality Tools, Business Administration, Sports and Cultural Practices, Intellectual Games, Organizing Lectures followed by discussions on some social topics…). Fourth Star: Following Distance Learning or Mobility-Based Learning Evaluated with Credits (either through Massive Open Online Courses – MOOCs – or any other online means, ERASMUS program, academic mobility directed primarily towards the south of the country). Fifth Star: Integration and Social Engagement (Charitable work (e.g., visiting hospitals and helping patients), academic cooperation with accredited bodies in Algeria, student tutor-advisor, student representative in various pedagogical and scientific councils of the department).
Notes: *Files are to be submitted to the secretariat of the Vice-Dean in charge of Studies and Student-Related Affairs during the aforementioned period. *Students who have benefited from reintegration due to suspension of studies, as well as students of the classical system who were enrolled in the second year of Master’s for the academic year 2024/2025, are excluded from this announcement. *Each candidate student must submit supporting documents for each of the five stars. *Failure to achieve one of the five stars is a disqualifying condition. *The composition of the jury will be announced later. *Students who have previously obtained a five-star certificate are not eligible to participate.
