🗓️ National Symposium
The Faculty of Letters and Languages at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’sila organized a national symposium today, October 28, 2025.
The symposium, titled “Manuscript Heritage in M’sila Province: Reality and Prospects,” was held in the Taher Serayche Hall.
👥 Attendees and Opening
The event was attended by key university figures. These included Professor Aïd Lyamin, Vice-Rector, and Professor Djerbouai Salim, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Cooperation. Professor Mohamed Laid Khatim, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management Sciences, was also present.
The symposium chair, Professor Abbas Ben Yahia, opened the session. He welcomed attendees from national universities, research centers, and representatives of national Zaouias (religious and educational centers). He praised the vital role of manuscripts in preserving heritage and national identity.
📜 Focus on Heritage
Next, Dr. Lakhdar Henni, the Dean, gave his address. He also welcomed all attendees. Dr. Henni emphasized that manuscripts are more than just a relic of the past. They are, in fact, a foundational civilizational act.
He stated that manuscripts reconnect the nation to its roots. They build the future on a base of authenticity and awareness. Therefore, the symposium’s goal is not merely to document memory. It is to activate it. The aim is to transform the silent archive into an active source of knowledge.

Finally, Professor Aid Lyamin, Vice-Rector for Planning and Forecasting, delivered his remarks. He then officially launched the symposium’s activities.
