ntroduction to the Sub-Unit for Quality Assurance at the Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities
The Sub-Unit for Quality Assurance at the Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities is an organizational body established at the institute level. It operates under the University’s Central Quality Assurance Unit, which in turn reports directly to the Rector of the University. The sub-unit consists of professors and administrative staff recognized for their competence and interest in pedagogical and organizational matters within the university, after obtaining their explicit consent to join the unit, in addition to two students representing the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from the institute.
This sub-unit seeks to promote and institutionalize a culture of Quality Management Systems (QMS), enhance the quality of education, training, scientific research, and technological development, and keep pace with scientific, technical, and technological advancements in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS). Its mission is to ensure effective coordination in risk and opportunity management, define and measure performance indicators, and achieve continuous improvement of academic, administrative, and educational service processes in compliance with quality management standards, thereby strengthening stakeholders’ confidence, ensuring outstanding performance, enhancing competitiveness, and achieving excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Sub-Unit for Quality Assurance
The duties and responsibilities of the Sub-Unit for Quality Assurance include the following:
- Promoting a culture of quality and involving professors and students to ensure the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and compliance with the national quality assurance framework (CIAQES).
- Conducting periodic self-assessment and internal audits in the fields of education and training, scientific research, and governance in order to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
- Preparing and implementing strategic plans and objectives related to the institute’s Quality Management System.
- Organizing and facilitating awareness days and training sessions on the Quality Management System.
- Monitoring the implementation of the National Reference Framework for Quality Assurance (RNAQES) in accordance with QMS requirements and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Assessing the institute’s capacities and capabilities in communicating its mission through data and information.
- Evaluating organizational procedures related to introducing and presenting the various departments and services within the institute.
- Evaluating organizational regulations related to safety and prevention procedures, provision of first aid, and environmental protection.
- Supervising the distribution, organization, and effective use of pedagogical structures and resources.
- Ensuring the availability, proper management, and preservation of the institute’s archives in the fields of education, training, scientific research, governance, student life, and cooperation.
- Raising awareness about the necessity of making all decisions and decrees related to pedagogical organization and management available for all educational levels, as well as scientific research and the university’s internal regulations.
- Evaluating methods and approaches of administrative and organizational communication among different departments and services and working on their development according to quality standards.
- Preparing reports on the various activities of the sub-unit and submitting them to the Director of the Institute.
- Defining, monitoring, measuring, and evaluating pedagogical, scientific, and administrative performance indicators in order to ensure corrective actions, support, continuous improvement, and institutional and service quality enhancement.
- Preparing periodic reports and submitting them to the Central Quality Assurance Unit.
- Collecting and processing improvement suggestions from professors, students, and administrative staff.
